A note from our Pastor
Dear Family of Faith,
May is here; May – the month dedicated to Mary, the Mother of God and the Mother of all of us.
This May, examine your devotion to the Blessed Mother. I invite you to grow in devotion to Mary by praying the rosary daily and discover the beauty of praying the rosary at home. If you have a Mary statue or image, crown Mary, echoing the customs and traditions of the Church. When you commemorate Mary and all her beauty and virtue in your home – your domestic church – you join more fully into the life of the Church.
On a related topic of Mary, as you recall, Bishop Hying has approved IHM to be a Diocesan Shrine in order to foster devotion to Our Lady through the Green Scapular. To mark this momentous event in the life of our parish, and to celebrate our patronal Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Bishop Hying is celebrating Holy Mass on June 18, 2023 at IHM’s 10:15am Mass, with a picnic to follow. Please mark your calendars!
Thank you to Kathy Marshall, who is coordinating the efforts of IHM being a shrine church, and Ben and Rachel Conrad for their work on planning a picnic. Stay tuned for more information in the coming weeks.
Mary, Mother of God, pray for us,
Fr. Chad M. Droessler

Vacation Bible School Registration

Strengthen your child’s Catholic faith & grow in community this summer at Vacation Bible School (VBS)! It will take place at IHM Mon-Fri July 17-21 for all children going into 4K-6th Grade! The theme is Cathletics: Training to be Champions for Christ! It is an Olympic/Sports-themed program, where children will be inspired to set GOALS and AIM for a commitment to excellence in their Catholic faith. We will need adult volunteers and youth volunteers (7th Grade and up)! **Please register your child by 6/1 to take advantage of this early bird pricing.** More information can be viewed here.

Faith-Filled Adult Chaperones Needed
We have a large need for faith-filled adult chaperones (21 years or older) to accompany our high school students to Love Begins Here (LBH) 6/18-6/23 to St. Henry in Watertown. Currently, we do not have enough chaperones to allow all of our registered teens to attend! LBH provides youth with an opportunity to encounter Jesus through a week long, overnight mission trip where they live in Catholic community and serve together at a common host site in our diocese. LBH began right here in the Diocese of Madison. It encourages high school students to live a life of faith, fun, and service! Adults will need to be Virtus-trained prior. Please contact Rebekah at rscaperlanda@ihmparish.org as soon as possible!

Luke House
Thank you again for another month of support of Luke House.  The need continues to be great. Please consider serving or donating food. The May Luke House is on Wed May 24. Please bring any food donations to the back door of the rectory (next to the rectory garage) between 7am and 3:30pm.  Historically, May is a difficult month for us to find a full roster of helpers to serve so if you have availability to serve, please do!  The volunteer & donation signup sheet can be found here.
Deepen Your Faith with the Catholic Herald
This week’s issue focuses especially on topics related to Mother’s Day, with a special Senior/Retirement section filled with content geared specifically toward older adults. There is a box that will be checked weekly by our Home School Association. For more instructions, visit: boxtops4education.com. For questions, email: ihmhsa@gmail.com.

Thank you to the following ministries who will be leading this effort: Vocations Committee, St. Anne’s, and Knights of Columbus! Monetary donations should be labeled as “Ordination Reception” and placed in the collection basket or the Parish Office. These funds will be used to purchase cake, punch, plates/silverware, and coffee for the event. Contact Teri with questions at 608-206-5144 or tkkuntzsch@gmail.com. Please sign up here.
