“Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.” -Matthew 28:19

Dear Family of Faith,
As you know by now Bishop Hying has confirmed and approved our new pastorate grouping of:
• Immaculate Heart of Mary, Monona • Christ the King, McFarland • Saint Patrick, Cottage Grove
In addition, I am thankful to remain as pastor (parochial administrator), ministering with Fr. Bill Van Wagner and Deacon Mark Folley (to be ordained a priest in May). The new pastorate will officially begin July 1, 2023. With that news, we now look to this shared future with many decisions remaining on what that will look like.
Last week I shared the history of The Pontifical Mission Societies, beginning as the idea and apostolate of Blessed Pauline Jaricot in 19th century France. Her vision was to help the Church’s worldwide missionary work.
More than a decade before Pauline Jaricot envisioned the idea for the Propagation of the Faith; a young French nobleman — Charles de Forbin-Janson — was ordained a priest.
One day in 1843, now Bishop Forbin-Janson had a talk with Pauline Jaricot about his longtime dream. In the course of the conversation, she suggested that he appeal to the children of France to help children around the world — and the Missionary Childhood Association (MCA), originally known as Holy childhood Association, was born.
Today, MCA continues to follow the vision of Bishop Forbin-Janson – “children helping children.” After learning about the great needs of the world’s poorest children, young people are invited to pray and to offer financial help so that children in the Missions may know Christ and experience his love and care.
Lastly, our annual novena, prayed to St. Joseph for increased enrollment in our Catholic school begins March 11. Click here for the novena. For the past six years we have prayed this, and St. Joseph has undoubtedly interceded for this intention! The Feast of St. Joseph is March 19, but because if falls on Sunday this year, the Solemnity is transferred to Monday. Come celebrate Holy Mass with the school children at 8:30 a.m. on March 20!
St. Joseph, pray for us,
Fr. Chad M. Droessler

Lenten Almsgiving
Our parish Lenten almsgiving will support “The Pontifical Mission Societies which serve the Church’s universality as a global network of support for the Pope in his missionary commitment by prayer, the soul of mission, and charitable offerings from Christians throughout the world.” -Pope Francis
Throughout the year, the Pontifical Mission Societies support the proclamation of the Gospel, the building of the Church, and the work and witness of mission priests, religious Sisters and Brothers, and lay pastoral leaders. These missionaries provide food, education, and medical care to the most vulnerable communities in the Pope’s missions. Through their work, they reveal the compassionate heart of Jesus. Help support their efforts ~ and be right there with them, offering hope. Donation boxes are available in the back of church. Please take one or more home with you. As you fast during Lent from things that you enjoy, such as coffee, candy, soda, fast food, etc., set aside the money you would normally have spent, and place it in the box. Return it on Palm Sunday weekend.
