From the Office
Dear Parents,
Sunday October 4th is the feast of St. Francis! To celebrate, Fr. Chad will be offering a modified Pet Blessing on next Tuesday, October 6th at pickup. Please notice the date has changed. Bring your pets and keep them in the car, pick up your kiddos, and then do the “Pet Blessing Drive Through” in the church circle!
The Badger Shields that we ordered for all of the students are here, and I passed them out yesterday. The teachers are going to have the students try them a little everyday to get used to them – it does take awhile, just like the masks do at first. The students are allowed to use either the Badger Shield, a mask, or both. We are so happy to be able to offer this option to our students!
In the next few weeks, IHM teachers will be teaching the Diocese of Madison personal safety program “Circle of Grace” to Grades K-8. There is a letter and FAQ about the program linked below, as well as an “opt out” form. Please let me know if you have any questions about the program!
IHM will be holding a food drive in October, to benefit the Sandburg Neighborhood Food Pantry, run by our very own Mrs. Heidi Walters! See the link below for more details!
As a reminder, if your child has an
appointment and has to leave early, come late, is sick or going on vacation and won’t be coming at all, please email Mrs. Winter at
secretary@ihm-school.org (she will share it with the teacher, or feel free to include the teacher on the email as well) or call the school Absence Voicemail at 608-222-8831
before 8:30 AM on that day, or before.
I also wanted to reiterate that if your child is home sick for the day, we encourage them to use that time to rest and recover. They are welcome to view their teacher’s online lessons (posted in the IHM Learning Platform – Moodle) if they are feeling well enough. However, students will NOT be able to get supplies, technology, or handouts for that day. Teachers will need at least 2 days to prepare, and pick ups for materials will only be on Fridays. Thank you for understanding!
Catholic Schools provide a firm foundation for the growth and development of your child. Pray for a year filled with faith and learning. Let us be a community of service to one another and to our world.
God Bless,
Callie Meiller, Principal
