From the Office

 Dear Parents,

IHM School starts next Wednesday, August 31st! All of the teachers and staff have been working hard the last few weeks in preparation of the start of the school year next week! We are all looking forward to having our wonderful students back in the building for another year of growth in learning, faith, and fun!

I have hired Ms. Jen Mercier as our new Computer (K-8), Art (K-8), and Middle-School Math teacher! You may recognize Ms. Mercier from our Afterschool program last year. We are excited to have her full-time in a classroom this year! I am still working on getting a new PE teacher, but in the meantime I have a back-up plan: a retired teacher to work three days a week, and Mr. Brian Wagner  and myself will split the other two days as the PE sub until I can hire someone.

The Middle School end of the building, as well as the office is in the process of getting new windows this week. The process should be done before school starts. It will be great to have new, more energy efficient, easier-opening windows to let the sunshine  and fresh air into our classrooms!

There are some good things to know at the beginning of the school year – please keep reading below and you may find answers to questions you were wondering about! If you still have questions, please feel free to email Mrs. Winter at secretary@ihm-school.org, or find your child’s teachers email in the directory on your FACTs Family Portal.

Catholic Schools provide a firm foundation for the growth and development of your child. Pray for a year filled with faith and learning. Let us be a community of service to one another and to our world.

God Bless,
Callie Meiller, Principal

Office Reminders

Lunches and Menu

The link to the menu for the first few weeks of school is below. The salad bar will be available this year!

Mrs. Walters is also looking for several volunteers to come in and help in the kitchen on a weekly basis – one day a week from 1045-1:00. Please email her at hwalters@ihm-school.org if you can help her out!

Drop Off – Pick Up

Please see the drop off / pick up sheet linked below for the details on where to drop your students for their first days of school!

Please note that at this time we ask that parents not enter the building for any reason, including drop-off, even on the first day, unless they have been invited, are volunteering, or have made an appointment. Bring them up to the door, kiss and hug them and let them come in! We will take care of them from there! Thanks for helping with this!

A few IHM Parents are hosting a get-together for that first day of school dropoff! They would like to invite all IHM families to stop by the church parking lot from 7:45-8:15  AM on the first day, August 31st, AFTER you drop off your students, to chat, cry or drink a cup of coffee!  We will have coffee, juice and donuts available. We hope everyone is able to stop for a few minutes to kick off another great school year at IHM.

Bus

A reminder that there will be no bus service on the first day of school, Wednesday August 31st. The bus will start on Thursday, September 1st.

We have been told that bus schedules will be coming out soon. Please be patient with the bus system the first few weeks of school. They are often running late on both ends at first, but once the kinks are ironed out all runs smoothly! If you have any questions, please call Nelson Bus at 608-221-8417, but this is their crazy busy time of year, so please  be patient!

Back to School Night

The ECE (3K, 4K, 4K Wraparound) has a parent-only orientation in their rooms tomorrow, Thursday, August 25th from 5:30-6:00 PM.

Back to School Night is next Tuesday, August 30th from 4-6 PM! The flyer is linked below – all levels are welcome (including ECE!), parents and kids! Come for a few minutes to drop off school supplies and say “Hi!”  Middle School orientation for 6th graders and new 7th and 8th graders is in Mrs. Derk’s room at 5:30.

Back to School Night is just a quick check in! If you have more questions or concerns that will take more than a minute, please email your child’s teacher (teacher emails are available in the directory on your FACTs Family Portal.) We can’t wait to see you there! If you can’t make it, don’t stress, just send supplies with kids on their first day.
