Eagle Express 6/10/2020

From the Office

Dear Parents,

As we are wrapping up this busy school year with this last Eagle Express of the year, I just wanted to pause to reflect on this wonderful school year. The end of this year certainly isn’t what we expected in the Fall, but I am proud of how we ALL did our best – teachers, families, and students! We are indeed blessed to have such a close-knit community of parents, teachers, staff, and especially the precious children we all care about so much. Thank you to each one of your for your kindness, your caring, and your dedication.
After June 30th, if you want to be on the list to continue to receive email communications from our office, please enroll (link here: FACTs Management). It is very important to complete enrollment so you stay on our lists – after June 30th we will start sending all communication through FACTs.
Congratulations to our 8th graders! We were so grateful to be able to have an in-person graduation, even if it wasn’t what we were expecting. We wish them all well in high school, and hope they come back to see us. IHM will always be their home!
Thanks to all who came out to the Fish Fry last Friday! We were able to sell through all of the fish that was in the freezers, see some old friends, and make a little profit!
The Pick up/Drop off went well this week! If you didn’t make it, you can email me to arrange a Thursday morning to pick up.
Speaking of Thursday mornings, I will have office hours through the summer on Thursdays from 9 AM – 12 PM, if you need to see me for anything. It’s always best to email me first at cmeiller@ihm-school.org to make sure I know to expect you. Otherwise call the office to leave a message, or email Mrs. Winter at secretary@ihm-school.org, or me and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
Report Cards are available on Teacher Ease tomorrow, Thursday June 11th after 12:00. Remember to check them before June 30th. In grades K-5, there are no grades – only teacher comments. In grades 6-8, there are effort grades and comments, but no letter grades.
Thanks to everyone who filled out our survey about possible Fall solutions! If you did not have a chance, we would still love your opinion. It should only take 5 minutes: Parent Survey.
I would like to leave you with a prayer for the summer time:
God of Wisdom,
We thank you for all of the gifts you have given us throughout this school year.
We praise you for giving us life and for choosing us to be your people.
As we come to the end of this school year, we voice our gratitude for the good things you have done in us, and we praise you for all who have shared in the work of this school.
We know this has been a hard year for many of your children, Lord, for many different reasons. We ask you to bless them in your love and give them refreshment and peace.
We ask you to open our hearts to those who need our love, and our hands to those who need our service.
We praise you God, through Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns forever and ever.
Amen.
Have a safe and fun summer!
God Bless,
Callie Meiller, Principal

Office Reminders

  • The Supply List for the 20-21 school year is linked below! Please note that the 4K list is not included – 4K may have their supplies “supplied” for them next year – we will let you know, and send out a list at a later date if necessary. Supply lists are also available at www.teacherlists.com.
  • Mrs. Derks has been working hard on completing the yearbook, and it will go to press soon! Every student, ECE, 4K, and K-8 gets a yearbook! We will let you know when they are done and a plan to distribute them. Stay tuned!
  • Enrollment for the fall is open and must be completed by June 30th to stay on our contact list. Log into FACTs Management to find the enrollment packet. The district code is IHM-WI. If you attempt to enroll and you get the message “you are not the enrollment responsible parent”, either sign in with the other parents account (or create one!) or email Mrs. Winter and she can change the “responsible parent” in the system! Let us know if you have any questions!
  • The Grant & Aid application is available here: Grant & Aid Application. The form may indicate that the deadline has passed, but there is no deadline, so please apply if you need to, while we attempt to get the form changed. Funds may be limited, so apply as soon as you can. Let us know if you need help with the application.
  • If you have a child that will be NEW TO IHM next Fall you must fill out the IHM application. Don’t worry about applying if the student attended IHM at any level this school year (including ECE & 4K). You will need to create an Application Account. Please do that here ASAP: IHM New Student Application.
  • The IHM Tax ID Number is 39-0828125.

Thank You

A great big, end-of-the-year thank you to everyone that makes IHM such a great school! Thanks to all of our awesome students, their fabulous families, our wonderful teachers and amazing staff, everyone that volunteers their time, and to everyone that prays for us!

Did You Know?

The Office of Catholic Schools, with Bishop Hying, in consultation with local parishes are planning to safely reopen our Catholic Schools for in person classes this fall. Over the course of the summer, IHM will be working with the Diocese, the health department, and our staff to ensure properly implemented safety procedures. We know that there are still several questions about what this looks like, but know that we will continue working through them over the next couple or months! We are excited to be back as a community, and continuing to form Disciples.
