Eagle Express 5/26/21

 From the Office

Dear Parents,

As we are closing up this crazy, blessed, wonderful school year, I wanted to let you know that from now until the end of the year we will only offer virtual options to the three students that have been virtual for the entire year (you know who you are!), and for the last day for 4K (see the next paragraph!) If your child is home sick, quarantining, or you are on vacation, there will be no virtual option. Thanks for your understanding of how much extra work the virtual option is at this very busy time of year for our wonderful teachers!

4K families: The last in-person day for 4K this year, as well as the last day for Wraparound and Afterschool will be Tuesday, June 8th. June 9th will be a virtual day for the 4K. Sorry about the confusing communications.

Calendar change! The ECE and 4K are invited to a Family Music Night on TUESDAY, JUNE 8th at 6:00 PM (not Monday!), on the IHM field. Bring blankets to sit on (socially distanced, please!) and instruments to play. Hope to see you there!

The enrollment packet for the 21-22 school year is now available! Log in to your FACTs Family Portal and click on Application/Enrollment. We will also send an email home with instructions sometime this week. If your child will attend IHM in the Fall, you will need to complete these forms to share contacts, medical, emergency information, policy agreements, etc. The forms will be mostly filled in, you will only need to change or add new information. Spanish language enrollment packets will be available in a few weeks!

Grades K-8: Please note that unless you have filled out a withdrawal form for you child, they are enrolled for the Fall; IHM now has an “opt-out” model. The completion (or non-completion) of the enrollment packet is not indicative of your child’s enrollment status for grades K-8. See below in the Office Reminders section for our new Withdrawal Policy.

Even though Dane County COVID requirements are lifting next week, IHM will continue until the end of the year with masking and other COVID restrictions.

A few other end of year details:

  • Usually we invite the whole school to the 8th grade Clap-Out, but this year we want to keep it safe, so only the 8th grade families are invited on Thursday, June 3rd at 2:30 pm. The clap-out will be outside, along the front (Schofield St.) side of the building. 8th Grade parents and families should wait (socially distanced!) near the front Gym doors for their students to make the walk down the sidewalk!
  • The last week of school, Monday-Wednesday June 7,8, and 9 will be no-uniform days. Because there is an all-school Mass on the last day of school, Wednesday June 9th, followed by Field Day, students should “Dress Up for Jesus” for Holy Mass in the morning, and bring clothes to change into for Field Day after Mass.
IHM Parish Festival events are this weekend! Just a reminder to register for this weekend’s Hike/Bike/Fun Run – taking place on Saturday morning, May 29, between 9 and 11 a.m.    The class with the most participants will get a free-choice / recess period during their PE time with Mrs. Snider. Registration form linked below! Due to lack of teams, the Volleyball Tournament has been cancelled.
Catholic Schools provide a firm foundation for the growth and development of your child. Pray for a year filled with faith and learning. Let us be a community of service to one another and to our world.
God Bless,
Callie Meiller, Principal

Office Reminders

  • All IHM Library books are due back to the library by this Friday, May 28th. Mrs. Winter will follow up with students for books that are not returned by that date. Books not returned by the end of the year will be assumed lost and charged to your FACTs account for June.
  • Mrs. Snider is looking for one parent per grade to assist with Field Day on Wednesday, June 9th from 8:45 through lunchtime. Please email her at jsnider@ihm-school.org if you can assist for all or part of that time.
  •  Important 21-22 School Year Dates (grades K-8):

    Aug. 31 : 1st Day of School (K-8)

    Mar. 25 – Apr. 1: Spring Break
    Apr. 15-18: Easter Break
June 9: Last Day of School

  • IHM School is committed to maintaining a low student/teacher ratio. Therefore the following policy is in effect for withdrawal of students K-8:
-If you withdraw a student after July 15, you are responsible for 1st trimester tuition.
-After November 15, you are responsible for 1st and 2nd trimester tuition and all fees.
-After February 15, you are responsible for the full year’s tuition and all fees.

Please let us know if you have any questions about this new policy.

  • The Grand & Aid application is here: https://online.factsmgt.com/aid There is a $35 fee to apply for tuition assistance. We encourage you to apply if you feel you need assistance; 20% of our current students are receiving some form of financial aid, and the majority of families that apply receive some aid.

Thank You!

Thank you to our 4K parents for sending iPads and accessories back to school by June 8th!  Feel free to send them in students backpacks.
