From the Office

 Dear Parents,

In his message about Lent this year, Pope Francis said “Lent is a favourable time for personal and community renewal, as it leads us to the paschal mystery of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. For our Lenten journey in 2022, we will do well to reflect on Saint Paul’s exhortation to the Galatians: “Let us not grow tired of doing good, for in due time we shall reap our harvest, if we do not give up. So then, while we have the opportunity, let us do good to all” (Gal 6:9-10).” May this Lent be an opportunity for us all to do good in our communities, family, and world!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day this week, to anyone who has Irish ancestry for the whole year, or just for tomorrow! May your troubles be less and your blessings be more, and nothing but happiness come through your door.

A few parking lot related issues:

It is the time of year that I need to remind everyone to please follow IHM’s drop-off and pick-up procedures. We know they aren’t always the most convenient, but they are in place to make sure that everyone stays as safe as possible, and we appreciate your cooperation! For drop-off:

  • If you need to get out of the car for any reason, please park in the church parking lot and walk students over past the drop-off line, or walk over to collect students from the pick-up area.
  • Please do not drive around cars in front of you in the line – wait for the entire line to pull forward and take your turn in exiting the parking lot.
  • Pull to the very front of the line so we can fit more cars into the drop-off/pick-up area.
  • For this Friday, March 18, because of the Fish Fry, please use the car line only – do not park in the lot.
  • Please remember to let your child’s teacher know if the plan for their pick up has changed – especially if you want them to go to Fish Fry childcare. Our students are awesome, but they are kids and can’t always remember the plan!

Catholic Schools provide a firm foundation for the growth and development of your child. Pray for a year filled with faith and learning. Let us be a community of service to one another and to our world.

God Bless,
Callie Meiller, Principal

Did You Know?

The shamrock, a three-leaf clover, has been associated with Ireland for centuries. It was called the “seamroy” by the Celts and was considered a sacred plant that symbolized the arrival of spring. According to legend, St. Patrick used the plant as a visual guide when explaining the Holy Trinity!
