From the Principal
Dear Parents,
Can you believe this is already the last Eagle Express of 2019? As I reflect on the year, I am really moved by the community here at IHM School. What an amazing year it has been so far – from community service projects like Koats for Kids, to fun events like Prairie Fire Theater and Grandparents Day, our days are full of blessings! God bless you and your family, and may the peace of Christ be with you through Christmas and the New Year!
Our 3rd and final Advent prayer service for this Advent season was today, led by the 4th and 1st grades. They did a great job!
The ECE & 4K Concert was very special on Monday. The audience enjoyed watching our youngest students share their love of the season and their developing musical talents! The K-8 School Christmas Concerts are tomorrow, Thursday Dec. 19th. K-2 starts at 5:30 (doors open and students arrive at 5:15), and 3-8th grades will be at 6:30 (students arrive at 6:15). The Christmas concerts are always such a nice way to celebrate the season with our children and the community!
If you have a child that will be in Early Childhood, 4K, Kindergarten, or Middle School next school year please save the date to attend one of our information sessions coming up during the Open House on Sunday, January 26th! It is a great way to learn about the programs, and to get your questions answered. Please share that date if you know of a family that is thinking of IHM for one of those classes.
And, finally, a Christmas prayer from Robert Lewis Stevenson for all of our precious families:
O God, our loving Father, help us rightly to remember the birth of Jesus, that we may share in the song of the Angels, the gladness of the shepherds, and the worship of the wise men.
Close the door of hate and open the door of love all over the world. Deliver us from evil by the blessings that Christ brings, and teach us to be merry with clear hearts. May Christmas morning make us happy to be thy children and Christmas evening bring us to our beds with grateful thoughts, forgiving, and forgiven, for Jesus’ sake. Amen.
Merry Christmas!
Callie Meiller, Principal
