Eagle Express 12/12/18

From the Principal

Dear Parents,

As Catholics, we recognize the season of Advent preparing ourselves for Christ’s birth. Our 3rd Advent prayer service will be Wednesday, December 19th at 8:30 AM in Marian Hall, lead by the 4th & 1st grade classrooms. All parents are invited!

In this week’s Eagle Express in hard copy you will find an anonymous income survey. Please fill out the survey and return it to the school office by next Monday, Dec. 17th. Your responses help determine the amount of Title 1 funding available to IHM School. That means we get money to provide services! It is very important, and we can use your help!

I hope you all found accessing your child’s report cards on Teacher Ease (for the ECE & K-8) to be smooth, and that the information was helpful to you.

The School Christmas Concerts are coming up! ECE & 4K will have a concert themselves on Dec. 17th at 11:15, K-3 will be Dec. 20th at 5:30, and 4-8 will be that same day at 6:30. Students should be dressed in Christmas fun outfits, preferably in Green or Red. They are also welcome to wear their uniform polo shirts. Please do not feel the need to go out and buy anything special for your child to wear during the concert. The Christmas concerts are always such a nice way to celebrate the season with our children and the community!

There will be an opportunity for our 3rd-8thgrade students to celebrate the sacrament of Reconciliation on Tuesday, Dec. 18th.

Catholic Schools provide a firm foundation for the growth and development of your child. Pray for a year filled with faith and learning. Let us be a community of service to one another and to our world. On behalf of Fr. Chad, the teachers and staff of Immaculate Heart of Mary School, God bless you for choosing Immaculate Heart of Mary School!

Office Reminders

Students who get dropped off before 8 AM should be dressed in their winter gear: snowpants, boots, hat, & mittens. Just like at recess, they will be outside until 8 AM if the temperature/windchill is over 0 degrees. Let’s keep everyone warm and safe!
All library books are due to the IHM library before Christmas vacation.
There will be NO HOMEWORK CLUB on Friday, December 21st. Afterschool will still be open if you have need of afterschool care that day for your 4th-8th grader.
Thank You

Many thanks to Mr. Mike Hegge, our custodian, who performs his often thankless job with humor and good will every day! We appreciate you Mr. Hegge!

Home & School Association

We are looking for one or two (or three?) volunteers to take over Scrip Coordinator duties as soon as possible. If this is something in your wheelhouse – or better yet, you and a friend would like to do this together – please let an HSA Board member know or email us at ihmhsa@gmail.com.
