Eagle Express 11/14/18

From the Principal

Dear Parents,

During this month of Thanksgiving, let’s remember to be grateful every day for the blessings that God has given to us. We here at IHM are grateful that you have chosen IHM to be your partners in educating your children and sharing our faith.

We are sad to announce that Mr. Andrew Beechtree, Middle School Social Studies teacher, will be leaving us IHM at the end of November. He loves IHM school, and is leaving because of the long commute he has from Milwaukee every day. We will miss Mr. Beechtree – he has been a fantastic addition to our school, and we thank him for all he has done for us! I will let you know when I have found another fabulous teacher for Social Studies.

Thanks to all who were involved in Prairie Fire Theater last week! It was a great show, and a wonderful experience for the students! We can’t wait for next year!

Grandparents/Special Person Day is Tuesday, November 20th. Please drop off your child at school and we will meet you at church for Mass at 8:30 A.M. We will have Mass with a song afterwards in the church (4K will have a special presentation in their classroom), an open house, refreshments, and the Scholastic book fair. The event will be over by 11:00 A.M. for early dismissal and conferences.

Parent-Teacher Conferences for all levels are next Tuesday, Nov. 20th. If you have not yet signed up, we assigned you a time, and you should have received a letter last week with your assigned time. If it does not work for you, please contact your child’s teacher. The teachers are looking forward to meeting with you!

Catholic Schools provide a firm foundation for the growth and development of your child. Pray for a year filled with faith and learning. Let us be a community of service to one another and to our world. On behalf of Fr. Chad, the teachers and staff of Immaculate Heart of Mary School, God bless you for choosing Immaculate Heart of Mary School!

Office Reminders

Please make sure to send your child with appropriate outdoor wear for the weather. Make sure to label all outdoor clothing with your child’s name. If you need help getting outdoor gear for your family, please let us know – we have resources!
Please remember that IHM is closed for everyone, including ECE and Wraparound, from Wednesday, Nov. 21st-Friday, Nov. 23rd. Happy Thanksgiving!
Thank You

Many many thanks to Claire Gnau for all of her time and hard work in organizing, advertising, supervising, ordering, feeding and watching our Prairie Fire Theater production! Thanks also to all of the parents who helped move risers before and after the performances, put away chairs, and everyone who volunteered for selling tickets & flowers, makeup & cast dinner!

Home & School Association

There are still tables available for Trivia Night! We are continuing to accept registrations. If you would like to play but cannot fill a table, please sign up as individuals and we will find teams for you! You can hand in your registration in the school office or e-mail your information to ihmhsa@gmail.com.

We are still in need of a few adult volunteers for Trivia Night child care this Friday, November 16. Volunteers must have VIRTUS training (Training can be done online in a few hours at www.virtus.org, and counts for all volunteering for 10 years ). These shifts count toward your family’s fundraising shift obligations! Why not get a shift out of the way? Child care volunteers this Friday will also be able to bid on Trivia Night Silent Auction items. Please e-mail ihmhsa@gmail.com if you would like to volunteer.
