From the Office

Dear Parents,

Thanks to all who brought their animals to be blessed yesterday. It was great to see so many fuzzy faces! Thanks to Fr. Chad for helping us with this adapted pet blessing in honor of St. Francis!
Welcome to Mr. Brian Wagner, who will be a teaching assistant with the Special Needs Scholarship program, as well as in other areas as needed! Mr. Wagner is a Catholic School kid from St. Ann’s in Stoughton. He received his bachelor’s degree from UW-LaCrosse and his Masters in Sports Coaching and Education from West Virginia University. He just got married last week and is excited to start working in a school setting!
Linked at the bottom of this email are the guidelines from Public Health Madison & Dane County for schools to follow regarding possible COVID symptoms, exposure, and testing, and what that means for school attendance. The IHM School Office will be following these guidelines, and ask our parents to follow it as well. We all are invested in keeping IHM School open and healthy!
Also linked below is a helpful guide for how to keep Halloween season healthy.
The School Advisory Commission will meet next Tuesday, October 13. Please contact your grade level representative or ihmsac@ihm-school.org with any issues and suggestions, especially in the areas of programs, curriculum, and policies, that should be brought to the attention of SAC, myself, and/or Fr. Chad for discussion.
Catholic Schools provide a firm foundation for the growth and development of your child. Pray for a year filled with faith and learning. Let us be a community of service to one another and to our world.
God Bless,
Callie Meiller, Principal

Office Reminders

  • Keep sending two masks to school each day with your child! We do have the Badger Shields, but students need to have a mask to enter and leave the building, and to have as a backup if they aren’t wearing the shield.
  • The calendar on our website has been disabled as it was having issues. To see a current calendar, please go to the Google Calendar here: https://calendar.google.com/calendar/u/0?cid=aXZvbm4uYmxhaG5pazA2QGdtYWlsLmNvbQ (also linked below). You may need to open this calendar first on a desktop or laptop (not a mobile device), and then agree to add this calendar. The name associated with the calendar is iblahnik (due to a long story – unfortunately it can’t be changed!).
  • The Eagle’s Nest, IHM’s used uniform store, will have shopping hours available in October! To sign-up for a time, please visit: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/409094aa5aa29a75-eagles
  • The food drive continues through the month of October! Please send donations of non-perishable food and care items for the Sandburg Food Pantry!
  • Students can wear shorts/skirts without tights or leggings until Nov. 1st, if the weather is appropriate. After that long pants and tights/leggings under skirts are required until April 1st.
  • Please remember that our doors open at 7:45 AM. Students dropped off before 7:45 will need to wait outside, unsupervised, until that time.
  • It’s not too late to order pictures! You can order picture packets online at the Capital School Picture store here: https://capitalschoolpictures.square.site/shop/2.
  • The Grant & Aid application is available here: Grant & Aid Application.  Please be aware that you need to create a specific Grant & Aid account to apply (your FACTs tuition/SIS account will not work.) The form may indicate that the deadline has passed, but there is no deadline, so please apply if you need to. Funds may be limited, so apply as soon as you can. Let us know if you need help with the application.

Thank You!

Gracias to Monica Connolly and Cathy Fagen for volunteering in the school office at Mrs. Winter’s desk while she is in the library. We appreciate their time and talent!
