From the Office

Dear Parents,

This Friday, October 7th, IHM is hosting a Holy Mass for the Consecration of Schools, Bishop Hying presiding! Because of the limited space, only the IHM 8th grade, and the teachers, will be attending. Per the Diocese of Madison parents and students in other grades are not invited to the mass due to limited space.  The Mass will be livestreamed for our other classrooms to watch, parents can watch here: https://youtu.be/du_hWNUyscM

Back by popular demand – the annual IHM Trunk or Treat event will take place on Friday, October 28th from 5-7pm in the IHM School parking lot.  There will be a new and improved fall photo opp, hot cider and chili, and kids pumpkin movie this year!  If it’s cold, we may have some mobile fire pits or heat lamps.  Please bring chairs or blankets and sign-up here if you want to decorate your trunk or bring a food item (both are optional). There will be blue ribbons for best costume and trunk.  Please also just come as you are and enjoy some community-building.  See the flyer linked below for more details.

You should have received an email from Empire Photos with your photo options. Retake day is the morning of Thursday, October 27. If you have questions or concerns about your photo, or wish to ask for a retake, please contact Empire directly at: customerservice@empirephotos.com.

Next week Tuesday, October 11th at 1:00 PM, we will be conducting an Evacuation Drill (required by state law), where the classes walk to a designated meeting place off campus. ECE-2nd grade to MG District Office (Nichols Bldg.), Grades 3-5 to Winnequah School, and Grades 6-8 to MG High School. Please rest assured that we will be mindful when communicating to students about the drill that there are many reasons that students may need to leave the building safely – such as a gas leak, water main break, etc. Please reach out if you have any questions.

Until we find another Homework Club teacher for Friday nights, students in grades 4-8 can attend the afterschool program until 5:30 at the cost of Homework Club.

IHM Grades 4 and 5 will be having a puberty talk sometime this fall. Please see the attached letter (also in hard copy in your child’s take home folder) for more information, and please send it back to school with your signature!

Catholic Schools provide a firm foundation for the growth and development of your child. Pray for a year filled with faith and learning. Let us be a community of service to one another and to our world. On behalf of Fr. Chad, the teachers and staff of Immaculate Heart of Mary School, God bless you for choosing Immaculate Heart of Mary School!

Peace & Blessings,
Callie Meiller, Principal
