From the Office
Dear Parents,
We are happy to report that we have hired a new PE teacher for IHM School! Mrs. Megan Arts will be starting in November. Mrs. Arts has a daughter at IHM in the 4K class, and has a degrees in Kinesiology and Nutrition, as well as many years of experience as a coach. Many thanks to Mrs. Becky Osman, for doing an awesome job as the long-term sub, and good luck as she goes onto her next adventure caring for her nephew full-time!
I wanted to let you know that I will be out of the office next week, as a member of a visiting team for another schools WRISA (Wisconsin Religious and Independent Schools Accreditation) Accreditation process. If you need to contact me, I will be checking my emails daily.
October is going so fast, and that means that Halloween and All-Saints Day are coming up in a few weeks. Monday, October 31st will be a No Uniform Day. Students can wear halloween shirts, colors, or their favorite color. No Halloween costumes at school, please. Classrooms will be doing other fun activities through the day, and Prairie Fire Theater auditions will be happening for grades 3-8. If your child would like to dress as a Saint on All Saint’s Day, they may (if they don’t wear a Saint costume, they should wear their uniform)! We ask that they do not wear masks or bring weapons as part of their costume. Our All-Saints Day event will be delayed until Wednesday, November 9th as Sr. Sue is on a visiting team on the actual day!
From parents Katie Schwinn and Amy Busse:
“IHM Families,
Our amazing IHM staff work so tirelessly to support our children and have been through an especially tough couple of years (as all of you parents have!). We want to continue to show our support and appreciation. We are reaching out to request donations to sponsor staff appreciation events. We are planning to host various events throughout the year such as – catering a few staff meals, meals & treats during teacher appreciation week, lunch for the end-of-year staff party and funds to support teacher classroom supplies & amazon wish lists. We are open to other ideas as well! If you would like to contribute in a non-monetary way (ie. making food for a hosted staff breakfast/lunch) please reach out to coordinate. Lastly, we’d gladly welcome volunteers if someone wanted to help plan an event. We would like to do one collection and use the funds throughout the year. The suggested donation per student is $5-50+ but any amount is appreciated! You can send donations in the following ways: write a check, with memo “Staff Appreciation” and drop it off in the school office or donate online with this link, ihmcatholicparish.org/product/one-time-donation/ ***Please be sure to select “Staff Appreciation” in the drop down under type of donation so donations are allocated correctly within the account. All funds will be kept in the IHM bank account.
If you have any questions, ideas or want more details you can reach Amy Busse at amysweinberg@gmail.com 414.429.2900 or Katie Schwinn at Katie_8888@hotmail.com 720.841.2318
Thank you!
