From the Office
Dear Parents,
You should have received a phone call from IHM School to inform you that we will be closed tomorrow and Friday, Oct. 15 & 16, for all levels from ECE to 8th grade to clean and contact trace due to a student testing positive for COVID. There will be no virtual classes those two days. Please check your email for more information, and let us know if you have any questions.
October is going so fast, and that means that Halloween and All-Saints Day are coming up in a few weeks. Friday, October 30th will be a No Uniform Day (as is the Thursday the 29th). Students can wear halloween shirts, colors, or their favorite color. If you child attends Holy Mass on Fridays (2nd, 3rd, and 5th grade) they should wear their uniform in the morning and change their shirt after Mass. No Halloween costumes at school, please. Classrooms will be doing other fun activities through the day. If you would like, you can donate bags of individually-wrapped candy so teachers can make small Halloween treat bags for students, just sent them in with your child to their teacher. We will also be encouraging students to dress up as Saints on Monday, November 2. There are some easy Saint costume ideas are linked below.
Join us for the socially-distanced, COVID-responsible HSA Costume Fun Run on next Friday, October 23rd! See the details in the HSA section below, and in the linked flyer.
The days are beautiful, but getting colder! Students will be outside as much as possible, so please make sure to send your child with appropriate outdoor wear for the weather for the full day, every day. Remember to label all outdoor clothing with your child’s name. If you need help getting outdoor gear for your family, please let us know – we have resources!
Middle School parents, please watch your email for your student’s progress report today. Our new FACTs system will email you the students current grades, and comments from the teachers, if noted. Keep in mind that progress reports are primarily for core classes and some specials may not have grades quite yet. Please let your child’s teacher know if you have any questions.
The food drive continues through the month of October! Please send donations of non-perishable food and care items for the Sandburg Food Pantry.
Catholic Schools provide a firm foundation for the growth and development of your child. Pray for a year filled with faith and learning. Let us be a community of service to one another and to our world.
God Bless,
