From the Principal
Dear Parents,
Because it is that time of year, I wanted to remind everyone that we follow the decision of the Monona Grove School District as to closings. The factors they consider to determine if schools will be CLOSED:
Snow:
- Large amounts of accumulation
- Drifting and blowing
- Unsafe road conditions throughout the district
Cold:
- If a Wind Child WARNING is issued by the National Weather Service, schools will most likely be closed.
- If a Wind Chill WATCH is issued, schools will be open.
A decision to delay or close schools will be made by 6:00 a.m. on school days. Parents who feel the weather conditions pose an undue risk for their child are encouraged to use their own judgment in making a decision whether or not to send your child to school. Students kept home due to this parental decision will be considered excused. IHM will contact you with our Emergency Notification system if we are closed, as well.
It is half way through the trimester, and we want to remind parents of Middle School students to check their children’s grades in Teacher Ease. Sign in with your account at Teacher Ease (use the email where you get your Eagle Express), or contact me for help!
“Catholic Schools: Learn. Serve. Lead. Succeed” is the theme of this year’s Catholic School Week, starting on January 26th. There will be a kick-off Mass at 10:15 on the 26th, followed by a Family Fun Day & Open House at school, as well as information sessions about our many programs! Please consider attending this mass and open house to be a visible “Thank You” to the parish that supports our school.
Catholic Schools provide a firm foundation for the growth and development of your child. Pray for a year filled with faith and learning. Let us be a community of service to one another and to our world.
